Last Speech

While the days were passing till the final day of school, one more speech was sneaking up behind us. This speech was none other than a perrsuasive speech. Because of this speech being toward the end of school, everyone was esspecially unmotivated to complete the speech. Needless to say the speech was completled, but not at its full potenial. I struggled to support my topic, as I only had one note card, and no facts on the note card to back the subject up. Even though I said um multiple times, my over all calmness during the speech was much better than my infomative speech. I also had more confidence in myself, and better eye contact than the first speech. Even though there were many aspects of my speech that did not go as well as the first speech, many other aspects were better.

How to Bake a Chocolate Cake

With the love of chocolate cake on my side, my how to speech was generally a success. My speech was interesting based on the presence of food.. I made eye contact throughout most of the class, and even let the class eat some of the cake themselves.
Even though there were many good aspects of my speech, there was still many things on which i could have improved on. My nerves were showing as I moved around alot, and went to quickly with my speech, as shown when I almost forgot to include the water into the mix. It also did not help that I could not find my utensils during my speech. With a few minor exceptions, my speech was well rounded and interesting.

My informative speech was on The Histoy of Kings Island. The begining of my speech did not really have a hook to make the audience grasp on. My speech also started off on a sour note when i skiped a few slides in the begining. After this my eye contact was not the best during the power point, and I moved around too much. After the power point I had good use of hand gestures, but it seemed as though I was pulling the thoughts out of my head and not from facts. This speech has shown me my flaws in public speaking.

First Speech

My first speech was not the worst speech i have ever given. I was nervous before the speech, but during the speech my nerves got better. I stuttered sometimes because of this, and as a result my speech was not the best it could be. My speech was also fairly short, which is a subject I need to start working at.

Bianca: Jessica Simpson would play this role because of her natural charm of having guys chase after her.
Baptista: Harrison Ford would play this role because of his age and of his prior experiences in big movies.
Lucentio: Tom Hanks would play this role because of his vast amounts of roles and his ability to play anything.
Tranio: Zac Effron would play this part because of his ability to always do what he is told.
Gremio: John Travolta would play this part because he is getting older.
Hortensio: Jason Isaacs would play this role because of his ability to play the villain.

Situational Humor is humor that comes from situations that arise in life. Sitcoms are great examples of this. According to Jim, is a perfect example. Through this show, you see the story of Jim's life through multiple humorous situations.

Play on words is when words become important as to what they can mean. The above picture is a perfet example of this because of the use of words in the town sign leads the reader to believe the town to be a normal town but when you see the town in front of the sign you relize that the town is actually named for what it has in it; palm trees and springs.
